How to keep your Gut Healthy to Prevent Sinus & Hay fever

Spring Time Pollen from FlowersYour digestive system does so much more than just digest and eliminate food! It is also the base of your immune system, so if it does not function optimally, your system can be open to attacks by viruses, bacteria and parasites. It also means that, if imbalanced, it will not digest properly, your body will not receive the correct building blocks to function and heal properly and so it will cause a myriad of problems including high blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol.

But, more importantly for our purpose regarding sinus and hayfever, it will also not eliminate properly, placing your kidneys and liver under strain to deal with an excess of toxins, and this is the reason why your body now has to use other mechanisms to try and get rid of these toxins, especially in spring and early summer when there is an abundance of pollen in the air, that adds to the load the body already has to deal with. There are various ways your body can eliminate toxins, besides the digestive tract. The mucous membranes are one of them and this is why most people suffer from sinus and hay fever during this time of the year, because their liver and kidneys are already under pressure.

One of the simplest ways to get rid of an excess of toxins is to use the skin, the biggest elimination organ, just by regularly soaking in a warm detox bath, at least twice a week. You can use sea salt, rock salt, Epsom salt or mustard bath salts and soak for 20 minutes, sipping water or herbal teas to replace fluids lost by sweating out the toxins.

The best thing, though, is to improve the function of the digestive tract. A programme to replace the gut flora with a good multibillion strain probiotic, regenerating the gut lining with L-Glutamine and restoring the alkaline balance with the mineral biochemic tissue salt NatPhos will do wonders in this regard. Add to this a liver detox with milk thistle and dandelion and you will soon be back to optimum functioning…and no more allergy reactions and blocked sinuses!

How the Overload of Toxins in your Body can make you Sick

If your body is overburdened with lots of toxins, both those generated by its normal processes and those entering your system via your food, air or other means, and you are not drinking enough clear water or exercising, your elimination organs will reach a point where they cannot handle the overload. Our bodies normally generate carbon dioxide, old dead cells, fiber, urea, etc. and the organs that process and eliminate these and other toxic substances include the Lungs, Air Passages and Mucous Membranes, Liver, Kidneys and Bladder, Colon and Skin. Mineral Biochemic Tissue Salts – NatPhos

These are minerals in pill or liquid form that were identified and formulated by Dr. Scheussler. There are 12 main combinations of the most common minerals found in the body. Each of them performs a specific function. By looking at symptoms, it can usually be identified which mineral salt is lacking or in imbalance. They absorb immediately in the mouth and can therefore restore balance without having to go through the digestive system. They are safe for babies and animals too. More

Do a Basic Weekly Detox

It gives your Digestive System a chance to clean out.

Choose a day that you do not have to do any strenuous physical work.

Eat only fruit for a day, any fruit, as much as you want.

This way you still take in nutrients, but you don’t overtax the digestive system and the body can use that energy to clean out and repair.

You can also drink lots of water and herbal teas throughout the day. The water will help to flush out released toxins.

Have a Detox Bath in the evening. You can use 2 handfuls of Epsom Salts or 2T of Crystal Salt or 2T of Mustard Bath Salts in a bath of hot water, soak the whole body for 20 minutes to open up the pores of the skin and sweat the toxins out. Sip water or herbal tea during the bath to replace lost fluids. Get out slowly, pat dry, stay warm and sit or lie down for a while.
